In the spring of 2024, the handsome folks at madhat asked me if I could animate sand.
A few days later, I was in the middle of a wonderful job that involved creating design and animation for project by the conceptual geniuses
at VAVE Studio to promote a real estate project in Seoul, South Korea.
The special thing about it was that the animation should look like it was made entirely out of sand. I used Cinema4d and Xparticles for the 3D part and After Effects for compositing.
The result was shown in a specially built pavilion in Seoul, where the animation played in a U-shaped curve. But see for yourself below how it was shown in the pavilion...
